Ok this is TVB 40 episodes big production show.

In fact it's good. Tavia Yeung leads the cast with Daimen Lau, Kenneth Ma,  Idy Chan, Ron Ng, Rebecca Zhu, JJ Jia, Elena Kong, Mary Hon, Sire Ma, and Vincent Wong.

The time is HKG in the 1920s: Story is about  HK’s very first barrister called Arthur Chung Cheuk Man who has NEVER lost a case before. He is also very rich, respectable and gets along with Chinese traders and Westerners. He is also a business owner. He is also a very strict father but a loving husband to all his 3 wives.

Matriach of the family is the first of his 3 wives, Koo Sum Lan who runs the household with an iron fist. She represents the traditional woman, always in dark qi paos. She has 2 children, eldest son Charles and 2nd child is the 3rd child in the family, a girl Ho Yee.

2nd wife was a former gege/Manchurian princess who lived in the forbidden palace, highly respected by outsiders, has great connections. From the get go we see Cheuk Man professing to her that he loved her the most. She has no children. she represents the elegant stylish high class woman and from her looks, wears light make up and light coloured dresses.

The third wife is Yik Yi Fong represents the modern woman, very stylish & beautiful. She is the one between 1st wife and 2nd wife whenever they argue and is smart enough to get along well with everyone but she's spoilt as she comes from a rich "bankers' family.  She has 2 young children.

Then there’s another son  played by Vincent Wong. His mother is dead, someone who had an affair with Cheuk Man. He was brought back to live with this family after his mother died. He's the joker in the family & gets alonh with everyone.

The siblings get along well with one another. Charles is also a barrister who works for his father. All wives seem to get along well with Arthur being the stern patriarch who makes an effort to be nice to all 3 wives.  Charles is not married , a bit on the idealistic side but his nature is good. They’re westernised in thinking. All children respects the father and is somewhat terrified of him because he is a disciplinarian.

What I like about the show is how they'll insert english when they speak- it's fun listening to them.  But after 10 epidodes I have to stop. And it's not because it's no good. The show is good, but I feel it's too heavy for me. How the 4 wives having to live with each other- it's really tiring.

New Girl

The series begins with Jessica "Jess" Day , an adorable, bubbly young woman who teaches at a local Los Angeles elementary school. Jess begins looking for a new place to live after breaking up with her boyfriend. Seeing an ad for a new roommate on Craigslist, she moves in with three young men: Nick, Schmidt, and Coach. Very shortly after her move, Coach moves out, and is replaced by Winston, another young man who had previously lived in the apartment with Nick and Schmidt

Zooey Deschanel as Jess, the eponymous "new girl". She is a 30 year old elementary school teacher. She is ultimately genuine and kind hearted, imaginative, optimistic and naïve, and sings from time to time. She loves her X bf’s hair which was so funny….  It’s practically Zooey playing herself…. She does all these roles all the time, but people love it so…..

 Jake Johnson as Nicholas "Nick" Miller.[7] Nick is a law school dropout turned bartender who at the beginning of the show is going through a rough break-up.  He is somewhat pessimistic and emotional.

 Max Greenfield as Schmidt. Schmidt is somewhat vain, a womanizer, and the only male employee in his company.  A semi-recurring gag on the show is that every time Schmidt does or says something that's considered "douchey", he has to put money in the "Douchebag jar". Of course he’s the cute one in the show!

 Lamorne Morris as Winston Bishop. Originally, Winston played basketball in Latvia, but he moved back to the US when he lost his spot on the team. He finally found a job as research assistant for a sports radio host- I’m only  into the 3^rd episode, so that has not occur yet…lol….

 Hannah Simone as Cecilia "Cece" Meyers, Jess's childhood best friend. She is confident and protective of Jess, whose innocence sometimes poses a hazard to herself. Cece is  so beautiful & model like!!!!! the critical onlooker. She instructs Jess on being street-smart and always supports her. Jess and Cece are opposites in some ways, but their differing traits complement each other very well despite their faults.

This show is getting very popular & has been renew for the next season….yay!!!!

I like it!!!!

Cold War

I recommend this movie. Usually Chinese movies are crap but this is good, plus it star my favourite Aaron Kwok & Tony Leung!!!

It's a thriller (love them) by 2 unknown directors Sunny Luk & Longman Leung ( so odd one this name....lol....).

Plot revolves around the power struggle between the 2 leads Aaron & Tony who played 2 police chiefs over who should take charge of a hostage situation.

It's exciting & fun but most of all I'm glad there's no inclusion of mainland actors- which is usually the case now!!! Probably because that might guarantee mainland chinese viewers. Anyway, heard it did very well in spite of that!

Anyway I prefer it to Infernal Affairs as it has my favourite actor...lol....

Neighbors

Caught the first episode of "Neighbors" on Mio Tv- free of charge...yyay....

Show is about a group of Aliens who came & bought a town at Hidden Hills, where they try to live as humans. One family left due to something & the Weavers (real humans...lol...) bought their home & came to live amongst the aliens.

As usual there are the clash of culture jokes, what's a little different is, the Weavers within the first episode know that the whole town are Aliens. It's OK but not funny funny like the MOdern Family... get what I mean? The show might not last....

Some other Alien shows that had done well were  Alf, & 3rd rock from the sun

TVB series

Hmmm.... Have not been watching them. I love Raymond Lam aka LF. But lately his shows suck BIG TIME!!!!

Will be watching Highs & LOws when I've time, heard it's good!!!!

Late Shift by Edward Khoo

I saw this piece of news from the papers & was damn proud !!!! Hee Late Shift is a short film by our very own Edward Khoo. Dont know who he is??? Haha... me too I dont know either till I saw the papers. He's the eldest son, ( only 18 yrs old) of Eric Khoo.  I'm very sure dad is very proud of him, even me, a young sporean is very proud of him!!!!! He was the youngest in the competition!

Late Shift is one of the 13 finalist fighting for best short film & a prize of abt $10,000/-  at the 17th Busan International Film Festival , Asian's biggest film festival. The story is about a cab driver who encounter a drunken passenger. The passenger was singing a love song triggering the cab driver's memories of love & loss. Film was shot over 2 days. Edward took months editing the film. Younger brothers James (17)  & Christopher (15)  played the score, which was composed by James. Team effort...... now isnt that sweet!!!!!! Good Luck Guys!!!!

Freaks & Geeks

Hahhahaha.... Bos ask me to watch this. And I was like what??? Never heard of... ok give it a try...was shock! It's a show dated back to 12 yrs ago... i think!

Not because it's so good... it's ok funny.

The wow factor comes from the people starring in it have all become stars.
It's funny!!!! There's Seth Rogan, James Franco, Jason Segal & the guy from Bones they were all there & very much younger.
It's so cool watching them! Love it!!!!

Weeds

When widowed soccer mom Nancy Botwin started selling pot in order to maintain her family’s suburban California lifestyle, her life took a turn for the dangerous. Weeds is a dark comedy at its finest—Nancy’s behavior grows progressively darker.

Like the Sopranos I continually wish for things to get better for her. Why cant things go right? Why cant she make tons of money? She never did, something always go wrong. Her irresponsible brother-in-law Andy hardly help at all. The rest of the supporting cast were perfect!!!!! Love  alcoholic neighbor Celia &family & stoner CPA Doug , they are really far out & funny. Her sons were great too.

The Sopranos

 Stars: James Gandolfini, Lorraine Bracco, Edie Falco, Michael Imperioli, Dominic Chianese, Steven Van Zandt, Tony Sirico, Robert Iler

The show lasted 8 years.... just goes to show how good & popular it was. Tony Soprano—loving father, son and husband, goodhearted friend, troubled psych patient, serial adulterer, mob boss and  killer— You dont hate him, you just grew to wish everything flows smoothier for him ....hahha.... yes you will!!!!!

Murderers aren’t one-dimensional; they have feelings, aspirations, justifications, families. 
His fellow gang members were equally fun to watch , funny  even.

Revenge

Emily Thorne  comes to the Hamptons for the summer, renting & then later buying  a beach house next to the Grayson family . In reality, Emily is Amanda Clarke, whose father was framed for a crime he didn't commit and sent to prison for life. She was permanently separated from him and never saw him again. Now, she's  intent on getting revenge against those who wronged her and her father.

The cast is beautiful very likeable. I really like this show, I'm half way through as of now. Addicted haha......

I like Nolan, googled him... he's a model for most part of his life!

Merlin

Merlin, made in Britain is based on the Arthurian legends of the young wizard Merlin and his relationship with Prince Arthur. The show has it’s own spin on everything.  

Merlin is a young wizard,  his mother arranges for him to stay with the court physician, Gaius. At that period in time,  the king,  has outlawed magic, Merlin must keep his magic secret or face being executed. The King has also imprisoned the last great dragon deep under the kingdom. Merlin befriended the dragon & it tells him things . E.g he needs to  protect  Prince Arthur, who will bring forth a great kingdom.

Arthur happens to be a bully but he has his good sides, he’s a good young warrior. He bullies Merlin but their r/s improves as the show went on. After a while it shows that they cares for each other & it’s fun to watch. Both the leads are attractive & the show is light & could be funny at times. After about the 3 season everything seems a bit repetitive

Mentalist season 5

Simon Baker plays Psychic Medium Patrick Jane. He's a celebrity on TV however his powers are not legit. He uses his great observation abilities, which he exploits to hustle a living.

During one of his shows on TV, he accidentically antagonises a serial killer RED JOHN. The villian got mad & retaliates by murdering Jane's wife & kid. Jane never get over it. He stop his TV show personality & became instead a consultant  for the California Burea of Investigation. With his unique skills, he helped to solve/ close cases in record time! He uses his unique position to try track down Red John as best as he can. But so far the villian remains at large.

This series though can be repetitive after so many seasons...... it's still entertaining.
Thanks to a very likeable Simon Baker (aka American's lady-killer...lol...) & a wonderful & interesting cast.
I especially like Cho played by a Korean actor, his deapan-serious charcater could be hilarious!!!!

Season 4 became a bit repeatitive but now in it's 5th season, the writing becomes better again. It's fun again! One episode went back to the past- the beginning explains how Jane joins the group. That was nice I thought. This season seems to be focusing on Lisbon so far... I like her, she's so cute like a little girtl sometimes...lol...

The Good Wife

LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!! Wish she went back to "MR BIG" haha....

Dexter

The last season's cliffhanger was so bad! How can the sister sees him cutting up his victims. But it's smart too, wonder how will the story goes from there. She's such a tight ass... boy... & she realised she loves him all along & was on way to confess.... haha... that's the beauty of this show. LOVE IT!!!

cant wait for the next season. Am I watching too much tv? Well I still can handle my school so that should be ok....lol...
